I have the video! 700MB. Unfortunately, two people decided to talk through the entire presentation right next to the camera, so it's a little difficult to hear. I'll probably type up a transcript of it.

Should I just give you the files some time and you can upload them, or do you have an /incoming/ folder I could drop it in?

The easiest is probably to give you a FTP access to the BLUG, let me check that, do you consider also putting it on Youku or on another video sharing website?

The only problem with YouKu is that it has no subtitles in any language, and I highly suspect that after it is re-encoded YET AGAIN it will be very difficult to hear.

700MB is kind of a huge payload for the BLUG website ... If xuedi prefers to host it personally that may be the way to go. I will probably host the MP3-only version on my webspace.

If anyone is an audio wizard, I have the original sound stream from the DV tape. Didn't have any luck cleaning it up but maybe someone here can do better.

That's what I am trying to figure out at the moment

I don't might to stream the video from my server, we can do the back-end at the BLUG site. So people don't even know its coming from somewhere else than the BLUG site ....

If we host the video on the BLUG website it should certainly be encoded. I have been using 'mencoder' from the mplayer project for the videos from the OOoCon 2008 and recently also for DVD archiving. I would estimate the video can be compressed to less than 250MB, still with an appropriate quality for viewing it on the web. Audio track can be copied 1:1 to not make it worse.
